Ruma Therapy was founded by Jordana Henry, a qualified psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling.
Based in Byron Bay, Ruma offers a warm, grounded and compassionate space to slow down, feel heard, and explore what’s happening beneath the surface.
Jordana’s experience includes working within community mental health and community services, supporting people from diverse backgrounds and with a range of complex mental health presentations. This experience has shaped a practice that is compassionate, curious and deeply respectful of the many factors that influence our emotional wellbeing, including our relationships, histories, environments and lived experiences.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, Jordana spent many years working as a practising artist. This creative background continues to influence the way she approaches therapy: with curiosity, openness and an appreciation for the parts of our experience that can be difficult to put into words. Where appropriate, creative and expressive processes can also be incorporated into the therapeutic work.
Jordana works from a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities to meet each person as an individual. Therapy is collaborative and guided by your pace, with a focus on creating safety, trust and the conditions for meaningful change.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, identity or life transitions, living with more complex mental health challenges, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, Ruma Therapy offers a space to pause, reconnect and explore what might be happening beneath the surface.
You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to begin.
